Her debut album as a recording artist, “Far from Something, Close to Nothing” seeks to reject categorization. The collection of songs blends a variety of different genres, transitioning from upbeat, pop inspired rock tunes and soulful, melodic ballads to an eclectic mix of alternative ambient electronica. The music's stories were inspired by life's common occurrences and the demanding struggles young women encounter while pursuing their passions.
Her range of influences is vast--music from the Eighties, Electronic Rock, classical Mozart and Beethoven, the soulful Lauren Hill, Fiona Apple and full on zest Beck are those on her short list. Elisa is incredibly proud of her achievement with this eclectic and honest collection of songs.
Enthusiastic to collaborate with different artists and experiment with a range of styles, she is ready to get back to the drawing board and develop some fresh new sounds. Who IS Elisa King?
Born in the small town of Penticton, British Columbia and raised in Greater Vancouver, Elisa grew up immersed in a musical and artistic environment. At the tender age of three, she had her church wowed by her vocal abilities. She was the envy of all the girls in her dance class. A natural performer, she brings light, beauty and an unforgettable presence to everything she does.
At eighteen, Elisa was eager to forge her own way in the world. She left her small community and moved to Whistler, BC to ride the slopes and nourish her creative vision. After learning some valuable life lessons and finding her voice, she packed up her belongings and bought a one-way ticket on a bus to Los Angeles. It was there she met with producer Rob Stennett, embarking on the collaborative process of her first album.
In addition to writing and performing her own music, Elisa has a successful career as an actress in Vancouver, delivering memorable performances on several well-known TV series including Smallville, Supernatural and About a Girl. She also works as a print model when her schedule permits.
Elisa is a bright, shining star. Her ethereal looks, sparkling imagination, gorgeous voice and dazzling personality are not easily forgotten.
